Webinars set for Aug. 25, 26


Online webinars will be presented by the Louisiana Forestry Association in lieu of holding its annual convention in-person, which was canceled due to the surge in coronavirus cases in the state. Dr. Brooks Mendell, president, CEO and founder of Forisk, will be featured on a webinar on Wednesday, Aug. 25. Mendell was to be a speaker during the general session of the annual meeting. The webinar titled “Navigating Forestry’s Future” will begin at 9 a.m. CDT. There is no cost to attend the webinar, but registration is required. The presentation should last about 45

minutes with Q&A to follow. Following his presentation, questions may be asked by attendees via the Zoom question feature. Attendees should look at the bottom of the screen during the webinar. At 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, another webinar featuring Jeff Wright of NCX will be presented in the same format. “Carbon Trading for the Forest Landowner” is the title of Wright’s presentation, after which another Q&A will be held. Following the webinar on Thursday, Aug. 26, Carbon Trading for the Forest Landowner, the winning ticket for the $2,000 vacation voucher will be drawn. Although the in-person annual convention was canceled, everyone who purchased tickets for the drawing when they registered for the meeting will have their tickets included in the hopper and the winning ticket will be drawn. The winner’s name will be announced and posted on our website and on social media.
