Nature Conservancy looking for land steward
The Louisiana Chapter of The Nature Conservancy is looking for a land steward to direct conservation programs on TNC preserves. Here are the details:
TNC-Louisiana seeks a broadly trained natural resource professional with expertise in land management and conservation methods to serve as Land Steward. The Land Steward will be primarily responsible for managing and directing conservation programs on TNC preserves in Louisiana west of the Mississippi River.
The Land Steward will coordinate the work of land management contractors and may have direct or indirect supervisory responsibility for other TNC stewardship staff as well as volunteers. The Land Steward participates in preserve operations and assists with the development, management, and maintenance of nature preserves and conservation servitudes, mostly in southwest and north Louisiana.
The Land Steward also assists with the development and advancement of conservation programs, plans and methods for small to medium scale geographic areas. The Land Steward will be based primarily out of Cypress Island Preserve (Breaux Bridge) but will travel extensively across many areas of the state.
