Loggers, forest products essential to U.S. economy
The Louisiana Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry is commending U.S. Department of Homeland Security for including forestry in its list of critical infrastructure, along with the agriculture that provides food to the country..
Commissioner Mike Strain released a statement Monday morning noting how pleased that President Donald Trump's administration has included agriculture and forestry in its list.
“It is imperative for our national security that we continue to provide food, fiber, energy and health requirements for the human and animal populations. We must ensure these vital goods and services are protected and not interrupted,” Strain said in the press release. “We are committed to facing this crisis head on and working as a team at the national, state and local levels.”
