We work to:

• Inform the public about forestry and Louisiana's forest products industry;

• Help private landowners know more about forest management and reforestation on their lands;

• Educate landowners and logging contractors in the use of forestry practices that protect Louisiana's abundant natural resources;

• Educate elementary and high school students about wise forest use;

• Protect our lands from woods arson and other forest crimes.

• We represent our members before public bodies on national, state and local issues that affect their forestland, logging and wood products industry investments.

• We are the publishers of Forests & People magazine and also distribute other information to the general public.

Objectives:

• Utilize forest resources for today's needs while preparing for the needs of future generations.

• Educate and inform students, teachers and the general public about the importance of forests and the forest economy that it supports.

• Provide training and education for landowners, loggers, foresters in the most scientific and environmentally responsible practice of forestry.

• Supporting and endorsing policy that protects property rights and the right to manage our forests for the benefit of the landowner and society.

• Attracting new members to the association who support the value of productive, healthy forests obtained through the practice of sustainable forestry.
